Writing progression steps

These Writing progression steps are a great way for students to track their learning over the new 2025 curriculum updates in writing. These cover the four writing sub strands of:

• composition
• transcription skills
• writing craft
• writing process

Each page is linked to the progress steps for each Year level reflecting the 2025 curriculum refresh document. Each page has the sub strands, a space for date of achievement and a space for comment.

These are great for student reflection, modelling books or checks for learning completed in class. These could be used for goal setting also.

This reflects the 2025 refreshed curriculum for New Zealand writing.
