Social Sciences Unit 1 - Identity, culture & organisation
This social sciences unit is a great starter to help unpack the key New Zealand social sciences learning outcomes broken down into identity, culture and organisation. This unit follows through five lessons that break down key learning that make up this unit with a range of activities, learning opportunities and resources.
There are five lessons in this resource that can be expanded or drawn out to cover two weeks. These link to the social sciences New Zealand curriculum, in particular identity, culture and organisation. Students learn about society and communities and how they function. They also learn about the diverse cultures and identities of people within those communities and about the effects of these on the participation of groups and individuals.
