This pack is a great introduction to any classroom exploring patterns. It includes activities, task cards and worksheets to support any learning that your students might be exploring or starting out with. This covers Level One learning outcomes from the New Zealand Curriculum.

This is with blocks, teddies, shapes and counters. Students make the same repeated pattern using the prompts as a guide.
•Create and make your own pattern
This is with blocks, shapes, counters. Students use the prompts to make their own pattern using the prescribed colours or shapes as a guide.
•What comes next?
Work out what comes next in the pattern.
•Make a fence
Make a fence for the animal using the same pattern popsicle sticks. You can use the task card as a guide with students working on top of it, or to recreate it on a surface with the task card as a guide. There are some empty pattern cards for students to make their own.
•Pattern strips
Use blocks or unfix cubes to make the pattern strips.
•Skip count with a pattern
Continue skip counting in the same pattern.
